Description
The Peixe Angical Reservoir is an artificial lake on the Tocantins River in the state of Tocantins, Brazil, created by the Peixe Angical Hydroelectric Plant, which began operation in 2006. The reservoir has a flooded area of 294 km² and a volume of 2.7 billion m³, impacting the Cerrado savanna biome. The dam includes a fish ladder to facilitate fish passage, and its construction involved extensive environmental programs and monitoring.
