The “Banabuiú Reservoir” refers to the Açude Arrojado Lisboa, commonly called Banabuiú, in Ceará state, Brazil. It dams the Rio Banabuiú. Capacity: ~ 1.5‑1.6 billion m³ It’s the third largest reservoir in Ceará and plays strategic roles: water supply (human consumption), irrigation (Morada Nova, etc.), flood control, perenization of the Rio Banabuiú downstream, and supporting fisheries.
