The Malta River (German: Maltafluss) is a river located in Carinthia, Austria. It flows through the Malta Valley (Maltatal), which is known for its stunning scenery and is often referred to as the "Valley of Falling Waters" due to its many waterfalls. It originates in the Hohe Tauern mountains. The river flows through the Malta Valley and eventually feeds into the Malta Reservoir (Malta Hochalmstausee), which is dammed by the Kölnbrein Dam — Austria’s tallest dam.
