Lake St. Clair (or Lake Saint Clair) in Franklin County, Missouri is a census‑designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community named for a small lake in that area. It lies in southeastern Franklin County just west of the city of Saint Clair, about 54 miles southwest of St. Louis. The community and lake are part of a residential subdivision with multiple small lakes used mainly for recreation like boating and fishing. Hydrology / Outflow: The lake around which the CDP is built is impounded on a tributary of Hoosier Creek, meaning its waters drain into that small stream. Hoosier Creek flows southward and is a tributary of the Meramec River.
