Lake Monowai (officially Monowai Lake; Māori: Manokīwai) is a 31 km² (12 sq mi) lake in the southern part of Fiordland National Park on New Zealand's South Island, about 120 km northwest of Invercargill.

Situated at an elevation of 196 m (643 ft), the lake occupies a long, curved valley and is roughly U-shaped. Its western shoreline is surrounded by rugged mountains, creating impressive scenery.

Lake Monowai is drained by the short Monowai River, which flows northeast before joining the Waiau River about 8 km (5 mi) downstream.
