Indian Trail Conservation Area is largely forested upland with some ponds/lakes and stream frontage. According to Missouri Department of Conservation planning documents, about 50 acres of the ~13,500-acre area are water (lakes/ponds/hatchery beds). One named lake in the area used for fishing is Blackwell Lake. These small lakes/ponds typically release water into the local drainage network via their outflow channels, which then feed into local creeks. Those creeks are tributaries to larger streams in the Meramec River watershed.
