The East Branch California Aqueduct is the second main division of the California Aqueduct system in Southern California, running eastward from the Tehachapi Mountains toward the Mojave Desert and San Bernardino areas.

The East Branch begins at the Pearblossom Pumping Plant, which diverts water from the main California Aqueduct (fed from the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta, through the San Luis Reservoir and Edmonston Pumping Plant).

It ends at Silverwood Lake, a major storage reservoir located in the San Bernardino Mountains.

From there, water continues via tunnels and pipelines to Lake Perris (the terminal reservoir of the State Water Project’s Inland Feeder), which does not have a natural river outflow to the ocean — it’s an inland closed basin.
