Da Nang Bay is a large natural bay on the central coast of Vietnam, opening into the South China Sea. Bordered by the Sơn Trà Peninsula to the east and the Hải Vân Pass to the northwest, the bay serves as the maritime gateway to the city of Da Nang, one of Vietnam's largest ports. Several rivers, including the Han River, discharge into the bay, creating productive estuarine habitats.
The bay supports a diverse marine ecosystem and is an important fishing area. Anglers can catch species such as Barramundi (Lates calcarifer), Mangrove Jack (Lutjanus argentimaculatus), Giant Trevally (Caranx ignobilis), Indo-Pacific Tarpon (Megalops cyprinoides), mullets (Mugilidae), and various groupers (Epinephelus spp.). The combination of estuarine and coastal habitats makes Da Nang Bay an important destination for both commercial and recreational fishing.
