Description
The Magnitogorsk reservoir is an artificial body of water on the Ural River commissioned in 1939, primarily for cooling industrial processes at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK). The reservoir serves as a recycled water supply for the plant, featuring a surface area of 21.1 km², a volume of 148 million m³, and an average depth of 7 meters. Environmental efforts by MMK aim to enhance biodiversity and reduce pollution in the reservoir, including releasing fish into the water.
