Lake Velenje with its surface area of about 1.4 km2 and with its volume of 30.5m m3 is the largest in the valley and is among the largest in Slovenia.
The lake is 1.4 km long and 1.3 km wide. With the depth of 64 m it is deeper than Lake Bled (31m) and Lake Bohinj (45 m); while its surface area is about the same as Lake Bled, while it a good 2 million more cubic meters of water.
On the lake there is also the Velenje Beach, which is increasingly more popular with the locals as well as tourists.
