Arrowrock Reservoir is a large reservoir located in southwestern Idaho, USA, on the Boise River east of the city of Boise. The reservoir was formed by Arrowrock Dam, which was completed in 1915 and became one of the tallest concrete arch dams in the world at the time of its construction.
The reservoir lies within a steep canyon landscape surrounded by dry hills and forested mountain terrain. It plays an important role in irrigation, flood control, and water storage for the agricultural areas of the Treasure Valley.
Arrowrock Reservoir is known for its scenic setting and recreational opportunities. Fishing is popular throughout the reservoir, with common species including smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, yellow perch, and catfish. Spring and summer are especially productive seasons for bass and trout fishing.
The reservoir is also used for boating, kayaking, camping, and sightseeing. Water levels can fluctuate significantly depending on irrigation demand and seasonal runoff, changing the shoreline appearance throughout the year.
